About this case
The Adriatic Sea, August 1973. Investigative journalist Marco Benedetti was invited aboard the yacht La Bella Vita by Count Alessandro Ferrara — a 'goodwill gesture' from a man Marco's newspaper was about to destroy. The story: bribery of public officials, tax evasion, and a 1971 hit-and-run accident covered up by the Count's money and a compliant judge. What nobody knew until Benedetti's own notes surfaced was the personal connection. The victim of the 1971 accident was Marco's younger brother Paolo. At midnight, a crew steward saw the Count's son heading to the upper deck with a champagne bottle. By 4 AM, blood on the railing and Marco's body two miles from the yacht told the rest of the story. Every passenger claims they were elsewhere. Three of them are lying. This master-level case weaves corruption, revenge, and a web of false alibis that will test your deductive reasoning to its limit. Welcome aboard. Watch the deep water.
