This page describes how ColdCase Party collects, uses, and protects your information when you play our multiplayer murder mystery game.

Information we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run multiplayer rooms and process purchases: the display name you choose when joining a room, an anonymous device identifier that remembers your unlocked cases, and — only if you create an account — your email address. We also record technical basics such as device type and browser so we can fix compatibility problems.

How we use it

Your information powers the game itself: keeping your seat in a room, syncing evidence in real time, restoring purchases across visits, and sending purchase receipts. We use aggregate, anonymized analytics to understand which cases people enjoy. We never sell your personal data to third parties or share it with data brokers.

Payments

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-certified payment provider. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We keep only the order record needed to prove your purchase and restore your access.

Cookies, analytics, and ad measurement

We use essential cookies and device identifiers to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and hold your seat in an active game. We also use third-party analytics and advertising-measurement services — Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, and Microsoft Clarity — to understand aggregate traffic and measure our own marketing campaigns. These services may set their own cookies; you can block them with browser settings or an ad blocker without affecting gameplay.

Game session data

Room chat, evidence boards, and game state are temporary by design: finished rooms are pruned automatically. Your case ownership and detective achievements persist with your account or device.

Your choices

You can play without an account, opt out of marketing email with one click, and request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by writing to support@coldcaseparty.com. We answer privacy requests within a few business days.
