Playtime's Over
5–8 players · 60–90 min · Not rated · Halloween

October 1988. A toy shop after closing, the retired toymaker dead on the floor beside a wind-up doll, and five people who all had a key. The twelve evidence documents do not agree with each other, and that is the point. Print it the afternoon of the party and you're set. Also available as a browser case if your group is remote.
Two spread previews coming soon.

What is a printable murder mystery kit?
A complete party game delivered as a PDF. You print it, hand out the suspect dossiers, read the briefing aloud, work through the evidence together, and vote on who did it. The sealed solution is at the back.
How many players do I need?
Each kit has five suspects, so five to eight players is the sweet spot. Silent Mode is built for six. With fewer players, one person can run two suspects; with more, pair people up as detective teams.
How long does a game take?
Sixty to ninety minutes at the table, plus about fifteen minutes to print and sort the pages beforehand.
Does someone have to sit out and host?
No. The host guide is spoiler-free, so the host plays too. A neutral host works if you have one, but the kit does not need one.
What do I actually print?
The whole file, single-sided, on plain paper. Stop at the sealed divider if you're playing rather than hosting. Color looks better; black and white works.
Can we play remotely?
Ring Light is designed for it: each player prints or views their own dossier and you argue over a video call. The other kits work remotely too if one person screenshares the evidence. If your group is fully remote, the browser cases at coldcaseparty.com need no printing at all.
Is this the same as the online cases?
Same writers, same style of evidence, different format. The browser cases run on screens with a host who pays once and guests who join free. The kits are paper, no screens, and yours to replay with a new group. Playtime's Over exists in both formats.
